Author of "All the Shah's Men" talks about the new Iran and the need for changing the American mindset and have a paradigm shift in its foreign relations. Both Iran and Turkey share common long term strategic interests with US. Both Iran and Turkey have value systems and set of cultural values aligned with America.

Iranian people arrived at a democratic system of governance on their own and it was taken away from them by foreign meddling. Now this 150 year old movement toward democracy is making headway and will take back the society to its equilibrium point again.

This is a fascinating interview about past and current US foreign policies and their effects on the middle east.
