"DAVe Warnke is doing a really great thing. He's providing a place where young graffiti writers can practice their art and develop their skills as artists, and they can do it in a safe and legal way.
DAVe, a Bay Area street artist who has been bringing his happy, smiley characters to us for years, both in galleries and in public places, created his after school art program -- and now summer program -- called 'Street Styles' with this goal:
"The mission of Street Styles is to educate and inspire youth to develop their own artistic style, to hone their skills and contribute to their communities in positive ways. "
The program is held at Root Division in San Francisco and is running on support from Youth Speaks. You can support the program by making a donation on the Youth Speaks website(www.youthspeaks.org), just put "Street Styles" in the "on behalf of" field. " from YouTube description
