Steven Pinker - The Stuff of Thought (TED talk, 2005)

Enzobluesays...

I watched this whole thing and it seems to me as an entirely unnecessary science. He winds up with a sort of, "of course we all do this without thinking about it" and I want to say, "because there's no reason to". It's a severe over-analysis of something where I see no benefit to analyzing it. He shows no end game other than to make us sit back and go hmmm.

We can record any conversation at pick apart all the pieces and reason out the nuances, but we already know the answers ahead of time because we naturally pick them up in the initial conversation. Unless you're inexperienced in human interaction I guess, but then OJT is still better than filling your head with this.
