Steve visits Vanuatu and finds a coconut crab during a crocodile rescue. "If you are ever concerned about an endangered animal ... just don't eat it."
Eat it? That thing would give me nightmares!

I recently stumbled over a photo of a coconut crab hanging onto the side of a garbage can. I thought it was photoshopped until I looked them up on wikipedia.

"just don't eat it" reminds me of the afterwords of "Last Chance to See", where a reader of an earlier revision of the book states that if she had known that the Jangtze Dolphins are endagered, she wouldn't have eaten the feast of one prepared for her by collegues in china. "So yeah, uhm, sorry."
Right.
