Star Trek - "Arena" ending

This was an extremely scary episode when I watched this as a young'un. Kirk has to construct a weapon from the raw materials he can find.

So, I remember seeing this rerun on tv when I was a kid and I WAS scared too! lol. also, it is THE sole reason that I still remember the constituents of gunpowder to this day.

"Kirk soon discovers that there are plenty of natural resources lying about to craft a weapon. He finds elements needed to make some gunpowder. Then he finds a bamboolike plant and cuts a portion of the wood to form a makeshift gun barrel. He also finds diamondlike shards of crystal to use for the projectile."
