Sesame Street: Little Children Big Challenges: Incarceration

Highlights from Sesame Street's new initiative: Little Children, Big Challenges: Incarceration. Alex talks with Abby Cadabby, Rosita, and Sofia about his dad's incarceration, real families with young children share their own experiences with parental incarceration, and an animation shows a family's trip to visit a parent in prison.

Little Children, Big Challenges: Incarceration, a bilingual (English/Spanish) multimedia initiative, provides much-needed resources to support and comfort young children throughout their parents' incarceration. Learn more at http://www.sesamestreet.org/incarceration

Where's the part where they detail how the economy, via private corporations, benefits from daddy being in prison?
You care about the economy, don't you kids?

Yeah, I guess I find the whole thing offensive because of what it says about a society, when a large enough portion of the population has to be addressed like this. It's not like sesame street is responsible or can even do anything to fix it, but it's a good thing I don't run that show because I'd have turned it into a "Hey kids! Did the government throw your dad in jail? Well fuck them! Don't grow up to support a justice system that serves a twisted abortion of the concept!"
