From Kotaku: Samurai Dead Rising is an online anime collaboration between Capcom and famed Japanese illustrator and character designer Norio Shioyama to promote Dead Rising 2. Shioyama did the drawings and animation himself (you know, instead of having his assistant do it!).

Also, I don't really get how this is supposed to promote Dead Rising 2 in any way. There's nothing thematically or aesthetically similar between this and DR2.
