Contrary to popular belief, lemmings do not actually commit mass suicide. The urban legend was started by Disney through a documentary that declared that lemmings killed themselves en masse by running off cliffs, while really what was shown was doctored footage a few lemmings dying through accidents in their migrations made to look like crowds of lemmings.
