Spun off from a series of coffee ads by Katsuhito Ishii (director of The Taste of Tea and the anime sequence in Kill Bill: Vol. 1), Funky Forest The First Contact is a two-and-a-half-hour assemblage of comedy sketches, dance numbers, animation sequences and indescribably odd episodes involving fleshy Cronenbergian thingamajigs that plug into the navels of teenage girls.
