I shot this on the Z1P a year ago, mainly in B/W, but never got around to cutting in. My colleagues in crime (Charters & Moulton) inspired me to get it done. I'm launching it as a tribute to the guys from the Australian Forces who serve, cut to the Gladiator re-mix. Many of our servicemen and women serve overseas; we rarely get a candid glimpse - a film-maker's view - of the 'up close and personal' of what they do: like, riding in a Blackhawk. All we normally get is news footage. So. I wanted to shoot in kind'a in an artistic fashion. We were only invited to shoot it as part of the force's involvement in INDY @ the Gold Coast. Sarah Estela got me a ride. It was awesome. One of my dreams is to shoot this type of stuff in a war zone; but I am a little away from this. I got the application to go to Iraq but I'd need a media organization behind me. And a star to do the tour: Gary Who? Maybe one day soon. Anyway. All on the SONY Z1P. Still. A fantastic camera. Thanks to the ARMY for saving me a seat. I cut this in sequence. What you see is what you get. And I must say I'm getting the shits with people bagging the US. We wouldn't be here without them so let's cut the short memories and back 'em through the thick and the thin. Friendship isn't always plain sailing so let's not be fair-weather friends. Thank you America.
