The same shitty country that could not even invade Finland. PAH
Ekleksays...For every reaction there's an opposite reaction
And criticism doesn't go without self-criticism
13653says...finland not important as berlin
conansays...That was indeed very interesting. To a certain extent the creator of this video is right: There are certain reflexes when it comes to russia and specifically Putin. In my eyes he is clearly not a democrat himself (judging from his way of governance), but because of the reflexes i mentioned (clichees and cold war comparisons) i would say a regular person outside of Russia doesn't really get to hear more of Putin than single sentences, probably taken out of context. People love good/evil pairs, they don't like to hear from or think about greys in between. Videos like this are always helpful in getting to a profound opinion of the world around you. So thanks for that.
But i have to disagree with CCCP here on two things: "The same great nation that was fighting nazi oppression"? Not really. First of all today's russia didn't exist back then. You are refering to the soviet union (aka CCCP). Second, it was not as if the CCCP thought "oh, those evil Nazis! Let's fight them and save the world", but war was brought to them when Hitler was on his way of securing "Lebensraum im Osten" (translated to something like "living space in the east"), attacking for example Poland and what has become the Russia we know today. So they were defending themselves from direct attacks.
The Fighting the Nazis without a direct cause award clearly goes to the US, although in my eyes that wasn't an altruistic but economic decision.
Please, don't think of me or my comments of being anti-russian or somewhat, i just like to help lightening stuff up if i can. I'm always open to discussion.
-- edit: Oh i forgot: The speech itself was pretty good at most parts. I was surprised, i thought of Putin in clichees myself. So thanks again.

Sorry?
To ignore whether this is a realistic opinion, you've chosen rememberance tuesday (rememberance day) to hand out awards to countries ranking their involvement in world war 2?
When will people finally stop arguing about which country "did the most" in world war 2? Every single allied country involved in world war 2 needed each other, and without each other the war would have ended badly for the allies. The amount of lives lost in that war on both sides was tragic, and every one of the people lost would be ashamed of you for arguing about such things imo.
Have some respect plz.
MINKsays...don't play the "respect" card on behalf of dead men just because you fancy changing the subject. i hope people who died fighting for freedom would not support the idea of an international "don't talk about the war" day.
The point here is that certain US comedians could make a similar speech to Putin's and get 200 upvotes.
If the USA really did show the world the light of democracy instead of the darkness of corruption, then Putin wouldn't be able to make this speech.
ambassdorsays...surprised that in reading the subtitles, i could recognize some russian that was similar to english.... but even more surprising... he didn't plug his judo video
ElJardinerosays...The point he starts making at 6:00 is VERY good.
The horrible thing is, while almost everybody knows how Sarah Palin messed up in a Katie Couric interview, not a single worldwide media outlet reported on this speech.

It's EXTREMELY important that we talk about all past wars, in order that the people who gave their lives are not forgotten, what a rediculous thing to take from what i said.
I'm suggesting how about an international let's not argue about who "won" a war day ON rememberance day?
I'm not asking for a topic change, and the only reason another word has been mentioned about it is because you made some foolish remark.
MINKsays...how about STFU you holierthanthou twatface?
any more rules you wanna lay down about when and how we can talk about things?
any books you want to burn?
