conansays...by the way: that's one of the big differences from "Europe" to the US. Over here manuals are the usual, automatic are considered to be old people's cars. Yes, there is some sort of evolution with doubleclutches and 7gear automatics etc., but still i'd say at least 3/4 of all cars come with manual.
But hey, as german kids we had to go to driving school for months and pay those bloodsuckers something between 2000 to 3000 $, so the least to expect is to learn how to drive a manual ;-)
