Vernon Robinson ran for Congress in 2006 in Virginia, running many ads such as this one. He lost.

I thought this was a piss-take, but it's true!

I like the fact that the Spanish version of this advert ended with "Yo, gringo! This episode of 'The Twilight Zone' was paid for by Robinson for Congress"

hmm, I'm pretty sure america had many other very different sets of values prior to the fantasy life depicted in 50s sitcoms.

slave-owning
barring the vote from people who don't own property
barring the vote from women
lynchings
witch trials
