Boise_Libsays...If we take her at her word.
Okay, she didn't know that in this post-Seattle, post-911, post-Oakland, Drug War obsessed America that the cops would use inappropriate violence against non-violent student protesters.
Well, then someone that stupid shouldn't be a chancellor of a university.
lantern53says...Tear gas is violent?
If a busload of people are blocking a road there are a few ways to remove them. Firehoses work but can cause injury. If you spray them with a chemical irritant they will probably move on their own.
I wonder how you would handle the road being blocked when you are enroute to work.
How would you clear the road?
Porksandwichsays...Cooperation talk after there was an incident of the same party trying to force their will against the other. Why would you want to come together and cooperate with someone whose shown they will only do so when they have no other choice?
I don't pretend to know every detail of what's going on there, but calling the cops out on a LARGE group of people who are obviously upset with you but haven't done anything threatening just smacks of nonchalance attitudes towards decisions and the parties hurt by them. That is not a negotiator.
dystopianfuturetodaysays...Weak speech.
marinarasays...yeah @DST
Her speech was pretty much you have to trust me, and give me more weeks in charge.
I didn't even hear an apology.
To @lantern, no the kids weren't blocking a road, they were on a sidewalk.
Is pepper spray violent? Try pepper spraying an unsuspecting cop, then tell me if it's violent or not.
