Penn Teller on the 2nd Ammendment

Penn and teller on second amendment.

Thomas Jefferson would be proud.

A silly fantasy. Who still thinks a modern 1st world government can be fought with guns? The battle is fought in the media now, which is thought to be a mirror of the people's will. Mind control is an order of magnitude cheaper and more effective.

All conflicts are resolved through means.

Still it is a right to bear arms, meaning your rights to CCW and house weapons cannot be infringed.

Most guns that hunters use now days will still penetrate a target. The fools don't think about what happens when that bullet passes through a target. I don't hunt I think its foolish.

But I do think about what can happen with stray bullets, I opt for soft metal blend shells. These tend to not go through a barrier or a person should the time ever arise that they be used. Which is very rare (However more likely when at a gas station).

The 2nd amendment, if put into modern context, means that ordinary people should be able to buy:

Tanks
Armor-piercing anti-tank missiles
Infantry fighting vehicles
Helicopter gunships
Surface to Air missiles
3,000 mile ballistic missiles
Nuclear weapons

Ya know, the tools needed to overthrow the government militarily.

I say, do that if you believe in the 2nd amendment, or realize that there's a reasonable limit to the types of arms an individual should be allowed to own.

I'm not a proponent of a universal gun-ban, but there should be controls on who's allowed to have guns, what guns are available to citizens, and effective means to track their sale and use.

You have a right to free speech, but you can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater. The same logic applies to the 2nd amendment, unless you're willing to allow private ownership of military equipment capable of defeating the regular military.

Net runner, yes all that is good and dandy, but it doesn't help stop the Illegal sales and illegal use of illegal guns.
Because if you track the legal guns... what happened to the ones that arent legal?

Besides we know that tracking systems do not work to those who know how to defeat them and are willing to defeat them (Criminals).

And there are already laws in every state that sells guns that state any Felon, or 3rd degree misdemeanor you cannot carry a weapon. Felons cannot own a weapon period. Any person who has went to a shrink cannot carry a weapon. In some cases if you went to a shrink for a family death you are not allowed the ownership of a gun.
