Barack is Too Busy with Real Issues to Comment on Gen. Clark

Barack makes a very clear point that there's no reason for him to waste time commenting on General Wesley Clark's criticism of John McCain when there are so many actual issues (and people) that need his attention.

that's gonna hurt him in the general election. Didn't anyone tell him that American politics has devolved from anything pertinent to real world issues and is more akin to American Idol, with its total concern for public relations and media coverage?

I think Obama's playing it safe here - so many people are coming out of the woodwork to throw their weight behind him, and we all know his past associations have caused him trouble. Either that or Clark is doing exactly what the Dems wanted (asked?) him to do.

That being said, I agree with Clark, as tactlessly as he may have expressed himself - the war John McCain was in is a different animal from Iraq, and the next president is going to have to have to defer any military-related experience to those on the ground anyway.

Everyone knows you're not allowed to criticize someone who served in a war unless you're a republican, no matter how true. If you are a republican you can smear their name all day, suggest they weren't even even in the war while your privileged son candidate couldn't even be accounted for during said war. McCain's veteran status meant squat to the republicans when he ran against Bush. Even during the Republican debates in '07 it was a slurry of snide laughs and smirks when he started on about how torture is wrong, something McCain actually did experience, unlike a leadership role. And something he seems to have done a complete 180 on. Its like the kid that dishes out yo mama insults all day and flies into a rage the second someone dishes it back.
