My God. They show you a video game commercial making it cool to kill people, the latest technology costing millions and all for the better glory and "Victory" of whom? Oh yeah, Boeing, SAIC, BAE systems, etc.

How about creating less wars instead of more toys?

This is stupid. The US army keeps assuming that it can counter any force threat with enough technology. Network centric warfare, asymmetrical warfare, Future combat systems, don't mean shit when you are an occupational army. The enemy will adapt to counter your technology, MOABs slamming into all part of Tora Bora did not end the Taliban nor did they kill Osama Bin Laden.

I was honestly waiting for one of Ridley Scott's aliens to leap out any second, and a dropship to come plummeting down from orbit loaded with tactical nukes.

Bush has made enough enemies around the world to keep all this stuff in business for many generations to come - which in fact I think is half the point of the Iraq war.
