Nazaré Blowup - The biggest surfing waves in the world

New video shot this monday (October 28th), with several surfers at Praia do Norte in Nazaré, Portugal. This beach has become very famous for its gigantic waves, and is alegedly the spot with the biggest waves in the world.

This is thought to happen because this spot has a deep underground canyon that leads all the way up to the beach.

Earlier this year Garret McNamara surfed a 78 foot (24 meters) wave and entered the Guinness World Records as the biggest wave ever surfed.

Now, several big-wave surfers come to Portugal to try their luck (and risk their lifes) to catch the next giant wave. On monday brazilian surfer Maya Gabeira, wiped out, broke an ankle and had to be taken to the hospital (fortunately she's ok).
