Precipitating events include a GDP that fell by half in four years, corruption, collapsing services and lack of food and fuel. But for the grace of God there goes America.

It wouldn't work here in the US. In Russia they were only using batons and water. In the US, the police would simply shoot or taser citizens. Oh, they also have that new fancy microwave device to disperse crowds.
