More experiments with Sulfur Hexafluoride

from youtube: Do NOT try this at home it is very dangerous!

Sulfur Hexafluoride "SF6"

SF6 has a density of 6.17 g/l whereas air has a density of about 1.2 g/l, so SF6 is about 5.1 times as dense.

Technical details for the curious:
The deep voice balloon was filled with a mix of SF6 and pure oxygen.
About half a pound of SF6 was transferred into an empty recovery tank for the demonstration.
The helium balloon was filled from a "Balloon Time" tank from Walmart.

Besides the outtakes at the end, this video was filmed in one continuous shooting. The editing switches between cameras angles, but everything is in real time. It was the 2nd attempt at starting, the first one stopped when the foil boat did not float as seen in the outtake. Four HD cameras were used; two Kodak Zx1's, one mini "808" style camera, and a Droid Bionic phone. The audio is from the mini "808" camera. One interesting thing to note is the way the audio sounds when the mini camera is inside the fish tank.
