Like all python skits this is excruciatingly unfunny. It's like having a root canal without anaesthetic, only without all the ensuing hilarity.

I always preferred the Goodies, who were funny in a gloriously silly way. Looking back, Python seemed a bit too self-consciously clever. That's not to say a few sketches didn't hit home but they were simpler and to the point. Stuff like the Dead Parrot sketch has never made me laugh much. I loved one bit when doctors are playing football against the Long John Silvers

What has always amazed me is how popular they seem to be in America.
