MS Flight Simulator 98 Space Shuttle Columbia landing

Dig the fabulously dated graphics and compare to the current video du jour - the Infinity Engine.

This video is so awful how could I not post it? The atrocious lag in the recording kills me with joy. From what I understand.

Why the terrible tag? Well, for one, this shows orange exhaust triangles.

First of all, orange triangles?

Hot.

Second, a space shuttle lands powered off. Check out this YT vid of a real landing to see how it really looks.

Still, amusing look back.

It didn't even deploy a drag chute... and the music, oh god, the music.

What? No one else caught that the shuttle landed almost parallel to the runway, unlike reality where the nose is raised damn near 45 degrees prior to touchdown? And that a shuttle can only land (safely) on a few select runways that are built specifically for the shuttle that would otherwise destroy any aircraft's tires?

I love how there's nothing else on the landscape but the landing strip..
