xxovercastxxsays......MC Escher, yeah, that's my favorite MC...
Almanildosays...Although I greatly admire his work, I've never seen Escher in an interview like that. Thanks.
Haldaugsays...Yey, Escher!
EndAllsays...Fascinating interview! I'd never seen him either.
Art was pretty much the only bearable subject in school for me, too. I could dissent, rebel, criticize -- express myself through art, whereas with most other subjects, it was simply do this, do that, read this, write that, remember these things, repeat them, etc. etc... god, looking back now, I really hated Catholic school.
Ryjkyjsays...It's interesting to me to see some of his earlier landscape drawings. I've never seen those before but you can kind of see where he's going with them.
Avokineoksays...If anyone who is interested in his works want to read a great book about Escher, you should read 'Gödel, Escher, Bach" That book compares the works of those three guys in mathematics, drawing compositions and musical compositions and if you are able to finish it (which is hard, because it's so very complicated) you will know a lot more about the world we live in..
Avokineoksays...Forget to thank you for the sift JesseoftheNorth If you have any more of that, that would be great. The things he was talking about in the interview are always the introduction about MC Escher in all books I have that are written about him, but I bet ths interview was longer originally..?
