radxsays...The Bf 109, the Me 262, the Tiger and now the Panther ... i know it sounds wierd and maybe somewhat twisted for some people, but looking straight from an engineering perspective, these are pieces of art to me, in both sound and shape.
swampgirlsays...Kitty needs a little WD-40
9232says...I've been to several air shows, but have always wanted to go to a "tank show" full of classic WW2 tanks. I'd like to see them actually go somewhat fast too. Kinda boring seeing them so slow.
radxsays...Well, the old cats aren't driven around at high speed, because the intermediate transmission, amongst some other parts, might not withstand the occuring forces. Those parts were prone to failure sixty years ago and they're not quite in pristine condition anymore.
The Russians raced around one of their Panthers at the Kubinka museum and tore the gearbox apart. Since there's only a few running Panthers and only a single running Tiger left around, they're more careful nowadays.
There is some footage left where a Tiger's driver really steps on it during a presentation for some Turkish military officials.
