It's still amazing how much of a non-event this is. I wonder if you can hear the magnetostriction of the (I'd imagine) copper grounding bar that runs down to earth inside the building. It wouldn't buzz like a transformer since its not ac but you should still be able to hear something from such an enormous current pulse.
