persephonesays...I wonder if the women with the labia that protruded through their gym pants, ever considered that either letting their pubes grow, or wearing less tight pants may have helped in hiding it.
persephonesays...*requeue
siftbotsays...Re-queueing this video for one more try; last queued Monday, November 19th, 2007 4:51am PST - requeue requested by submitter persephone.
Thylansays...Just just no. Don't do this
The phrase "fashion" she used, is the most utterly condemning of this. Fashion in clothes is bad enough (and not the same as style, not that I have that either) but the idea of their even being fashion in body form is just repulsive.
It's as bad as the idea that a penis that has a side bend is wrong. It's not it's common, natural and normal. Can we all stop taking a knife to our bodies and start loving and perceiving the beauty in the natural human form and not the surgically altered one.
persephonesays...No one else sees this as the western version of female genital mutilation? No, how could it be, it's professional, performed by doctors, there's relatively little pain involved and it makes women look hot in gym pants.
Thylansays...Whats more sick, that others think it appropriate to do and enforce it on an individual, or that an individual can be so undermined in their own self image that they perceive it as necessary or apropriate for themselves.
8383says...I've seen footage of open-heart surgery, brain surgery, cranio-facial surgery and car accident victims in emergency wards. I've even seen my own volume of blood pass before my eyes several times through a hemodialysis machine, but one of the few things that makes me nauseous is watching cosmetic surgery.
Why anyone would pay thousands of dollars to undergo grievous bodily harm for vanity, and on their vulva of all places boggles the mind.
MarineGunrocksays...I don't know that you can compare this to genital mutilation. The stuff they do in Africa makes me cringe. This is completely voluntary, sanitary and yes, done my professionals.
That being said, I wouldn't think that woman will undergo this type of procedure as easily as a Botox injection. The desire to have this type of operation stems from a very serious self-image issue. Also, it can be beyond just cosmetic reasons. Like the doctor said, very large labia may very well interfere with intercourse and cause discomfort on her part.
quantumushroomsays...Poor women.
I'm fighting my own inner battle on whether to get reduction surgery.
Don't do it, Tripod!
