La Belle et La Bete: Cocteau's masterpiece: the castle

Considered to be the finest fantasy film of all time by many, this 1946 version of Beauty and the Beast has a remarkable atmosphere and execution--especially considering the limitations of the day. This is Belle, on first entering the castle and seeing the fantastic aspects of the castle while being shell-shocked by her new situation.

The only French you hear is that of some "inanimate" objects telling Belle things like, "I am the door to your room, Belle, and "I am your mirror, Belle, I will show you that upon which to reflect."
