Kerry Confronts Funder of Swift Boat Smear Campaign

This guy just throws around money? He is obviously lying, nobody just hands out 50K without asking questions.

What is a 527?

Here is one of the swift boat ads from 2004.

The full story can be found on C&L along with a longer version of the confrontation.

I always found (and still do) the american political system quite pathetic. It's heavy, old fashioned, and the fact that these sort of ads are even allowed it's just sad.
Political campaigns should be made like they are over here. All the parties and candidates get 1 hour a day on every basic television channel for a couple of weeks before the actual election. Then they can use their own resources for posters, billboards, etc.
but NO ONE... and I mean NO ONE does this sort of smearing childish thing. Even if it's true.

Kerry represents one of the more cliched liberal fantasies: marrying into money instead of working for it and then wiling the halcyon days away spending other people's money like a drunken diamond thief, except even said thief WORKED for his ill-gotten gains.

The Swiftboaters were a nice touch, but such an obvious (flip)flop socialist belongs in the crumbling European-soon-to-be-Islamic Onion, not anywhere near the American Presidency. Mission Accomplished.

"I don't remember"...sure sounds familiar. It'll be the lasting refrain of the Bush administration as they try to hide their crimes.

What comes around goes around..nuf said.

QM- Kerry is a good man and a war hero. Not a chickenhawk like your boy Dubya and his cronies. So he married a gal with money? Good on him.
