Jeff Cohen: The State of Alternative Media

Jeff Cohen: "You are going to hear me railing tonight against the half a dozen Giant Media Conglomerates that are sitting on the windpipe of the First Amendment. They use the public's airwaves and public subsidies to restrict the flow of information. How do I know? I've taken a paycheck from three of those corporations, having been a paid pundit at CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC. I started out as an outsider media critic and it was like a slow motion nightmare where I found myself embedded inside the mainstream media."

From the 2005 PhilosopherSeed Archives: Jeff Cohen, author and media critic, spoke in Portland, OR on May 18th, 2005. Jeff's talk was featured as a Free Speech TV Keynote presentation."
