Is Karl Rove headed to jail?

The House Judiciary Committee has voted to hold Karl Rove in contempt of Congress after repeated efforts to get him to testify under oath. Now the decision to take the matter to the House floor for vote lies with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She says she won't consider the resolution until September but public pressure is mounting. Is Karl Rove headed to jail? Update: After the vote, on Fox News, Rove called the vote "ludicrous." U.S. District Judge John Bates ruled that the President's Chief of Staff, Josh Bolten, and former legal counsel, Harriet Miers, are not immune from congressional subpoenas.

Karl Rove's freedom is one of the things that makes Cindy McCain so proud of the USA.

Contempt isn't even the word. It's a mockery. The obvious distain that Rove has for our government and our laws is apparent not only in his actions, but in the smirk on his fat, pudgy face.

The fact that this man has been allowed to get away with this for so long is one of the reasons that I feel such shame for the USA. He's obviously a criminal who is flouting the laws because he's connected to the rich and powerful.

Unless I missed something Lewis "Scooter" Libby has not been pardoned; his sentence has been commuted. However, it would not surprise me to see him pardoned in Bush's final days in office.

I agree with rougy on this -- This is where my hatred of U.S. Government comes from. The Bush Administration's complete disregard for the people and the law, and Congress's complete unwillingness to do their job. The power here is in Congress, or at least it was before they signed it away in exchange for being yelled at more quietly as they cower under their desks.
