Something others would take more than a year. He is able to solve complex engineering problems, but at the cost of being "socially crippled".

Through breakthroughs in Transcrainial Magnetic Stimulation, John E. Robison is generating an almost miraculous recovery. Grasping a new found understanding of social surroundings. He likens it to colorblind seeing color for the first time in his life.
