Precedent shows that you need a substantive crime to get removed through impeachment (for instance bribe taking), removing Gonzales through impeachment over some attorney firings doesn't seem realistic

If the firings can be shown to have been motivated by a desire to remove prosecutors who had targeted partisan allies of the executive, that's obstruction of justice, aiding and abetting, as well as dereliction of duty by means of the political obstruction of his own department.

While it looks like that is in fact the case, proving it is, of course, another matter entirely (e-mails?).
