Good call. They sure can use the help they get from this 5 min factory tour.
I hope this gets to be my bronze star video and not that bud light commercial.
schmawysays...Actually, yes. The fact that composites are all hand-laid and very strong and light has opened up a new frontier of homebuilding aircraft. You don't need a large engine, so they are very efficient and fast, that's why it's called "sport pilot liscence"
..."The Sport Pilot certificate was created in September of 2004 after years of hard work by the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA). The intent of the new rule was to lower the barriers of entry into aviation and make flying more affordable and accessible. It has proven to be a huge success." (Wikipedia)
Seriously, if people want to fly and own or possibly build their own aircraft, new materials and processes have made it possible. Look at what's been achieved, if you consider that. SpaceShip2 was pretty much "home built" and is capable of low earth orbit.
Great for everybody but John Denver. Ooh. I feel a playlist coming on. a mix of Denver and experimental aircraft.
*promote ?
siftbotsays...Invocations (promote) cannot be called by schmawy because schmawy is not privileged - sorry.
Abductedsays...I think the license is called Ultralight or Microlight here, it's relatively easy and cheap to get. If I get one I would probably rent the planes, and if I want one I'd just buy an used one. Can't trust my handywork.
Found Loehe and Titan aircraft manufacturers pages, they supply kits of replica WWII planes "ready to be epoxied together". I wonder if they come in a giant box with a difficulty scale from 1-5 on the side too.
schmawysays...Haha. I can just imagine that big box showing up on a flat-bed trailer. With paints and glues the size of 55 gallon drums and a 20 foot long brush.

siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Wings) - requested by kulpims.
