Kruposays...I don't care whether you're for or against religion, I think this is an excellent video worth watching, if only because it's devoted to the stories of a remarkable man. Watching the video, you'll learn why he was beaten while sailing to America, and about other remarkable things he did - running a soup kitchen isn't especially unusual these days, for example, but back in the 19th century it was completely off-the-wall for a bishop to do. So much so that 30,000 people showed up at his funeral.
The video's also a fresh change of pace from all the superheated religious stuff you usually see these days.
securedesksays...This is an informative video. I admired him becauase he stood strong of his belief and how devoted he was to the public.
Kruposays...Yeah, funny to think there was a time when you could be beaten up just for helping a dying woman in a religious capacity.
benjeesays...An interesting story, shame about the church service at 21 minutes.
Kruposays...Yeah, I think the first 10 or 15 minutes are the best part.
andrikassays...two thumbs up!
