Starcraft is as popular in South Korea as Major League Baseball in the USA. Professional Starcraft players compete for thousands of dollars in prizes on live TV there. This game is played on an island map. While the Protoss player has the upper hand for most of the game, the Terran barely comes back to win it. The Terran destroys the Protoss expansion at the only remaining mineral location just as they both run out of minerals, and barely manages to destroy the last carrier, so the Terran is presumed the winner as he could float his Command Center over to the empty expansion.
"The greatest comeback ever in the history of Starcraft was of course made by Boxer.
Boxer vs Joyo @ Paradoxxx
August 15th 2003, MyCube OSL.
This is still ranked #1 game of the official OSL hall of fame, from the day it was played, to this day.
I tried to embed the English subtitles to this video, with no success, the file is too corrupted and its impossible with my limited encoding/editing abilities. (if anyone has an .AVI version of this game, it can be done, I know there's one such version somewhere in Korean file sharing networks, I couldn't get it).
Here are the subtitiles for the very last part of the game:
"It'll take a while for Vultures to kill the Nexus, but!"
"They continue to bash it! -This could become..."
"Ah... If we look at number of troops in possession, It's still Do Jin Kwang's to win."
"He has Carriers and Arbiters. -Indeed. But if Do Jin Kwang runs out of resources"
"and he has no more probes, and if he runs out of minerals for interceptors"
"then he might... -Ah...but still!"
"Lim Yo Hwan seems to have saved some resources!"
"Goliaths and Vultures come again!"
"If he destroys the Nexus here...!"
"And if he can defend after that!"
"Does Do Jin Kwang even have 400 minerals?!"
"Lim Yo Hwan can start another base here."
"Even if he can't win! -If he can... -He can lift his CC..."
"He has a chance!"
"Since his opponent's main has a lot of cannons, he might not be able to win!"
"We might see a tie game."
"Well, we don't know yet!"
"He's stopped the Carriers!"
"Do Jin Kwang's Dragoons have received serious damage from mines."
"He's leveled the expansion! Only the Assimilator is left!!"
"Do Jin Kwang's... -Do Jin Kwang's resources...!"
"How's he doing in terms of resources?!"
"He's got 6 interceptors, 6!"
"An interceptor is 25 minerals..."
"He doesn't even have that!"
"Although he has ground troops already, the fact that he's not defending means he has no money for Shuttles. -Shuttles also cost money!!"
"Also, his arbiter died so he can't recall, either."
"We'll check on the resource situation soon. -Wow!"
"Really... Carrier! Carrier!"
"He got that carrier!"
"In a one on one between a Carrier and a Goliath the Carrier should win."
"Lim Yo Hwan has 121 minerals, and he's not getting more! He's run out. Yes, he's run out at 121 minerals."
"More important is Do Jin Kwang. -Indeed."
"He can just lift his CC. -Indeed."
"2 dropships!"
"Doh Jin Kwang 14 minerals!"
"DOH JIN KWANG 14! DOH JIN KWANG 14!!"
"Concentrating fire on the Carrier! Carrier, carrier!"
"The carrier is destroyed!!!"
"Uh...it looks like it's going to be a draw."
"What troops does he have left? -If, Do Jin Kwang can't make any more shuttles, it won't be a draw, but Lim Yo Hwan's victory!"
"If Lim can get tanks..."
"Even without tanks, if Do Jin Kwang doesn't have any Shuttles Lim wins! -At 2'o clock!"
"Lim can mine at 10'o clock!"
"All he has to do is lift his CC and mind from 10! -Indeed."
"He can also mine from 5... -Indeed, indeed!"
"How can he not have ANY Shuttles left? Lim destroyed them all?!"
"As time passes, Lim Yo Hwan will...!"
"GEE GEE!!"
"AH!! GEE GEE!"
"Wow! Lim Yo Hwan!"
"Lim Yo Hwan!"
"Champion! what a champion! True champion!"
"He turned his loss into a victory!!"
"It wasn't just a comeback!"
"It wasn't a comeback! He BEAT Do Jin Kwang"
"What a champion! He didn't give 200%,"
"but gave it 400%, Lim Yo Hwan!"
"Ah...! This is THE Lim Yo Hwan!"
"He's truly amazing!"
"Do Jin Kwang... all for nothing!"
"Lim Yo Hwan wins!"
"Aside from feeling at a loss,"
"He's probably having a hard time swallowing it! Even though he fought so well!!"
"He probably has no idea what happened!"
"Every once in a while, on the message boards,"
"we get complaints about players who just won't give up a lost cause."
"That's because sometimes, SOMETIMES, they actually win those lost games! -That's why the try their hardest!"
"I am so shocked... I'm speechless. -Indeed. -Lim Yo Hwan..."
"A situation that is TOTALLY incomprehensible unless you watch from start to finish!"
"He made that situation!"
"Yes. This is one of the best games of all time!" -- the uploader

gwiz665says...Koreans are frigging crazy. In a good way.
Rooflessays...In case anyone was wondering, the "NG!" at the beginning stands for "No Good!" which is what they label their outtakes.
syncronsays...So at the end the protoss player controlled no expansions, and has no more resources so he surrendered? damn expensive protoss units lol, the terran player easily had several times as many losses, what's with all the goliaths anyway? he might have been better off building wraiths i think
12058says...Dude i love the starcraft vids keep em coming. This shit is a priceless classic.
9058says...Wait a damn minute, i dont remember Goliaths ever being able to stand up to Dragoons, and he even uses a bunch of Vultures?! Those things suck, a zealot can pretty much take one of those. Is there some upgrade i dont know about that made these two lackluster terran units do more damage and have more armor? (cause the damn armory aint cuttin it)
