Grave of Fireflies - AMV Cold Play

Grave of Fireflies IS the saddest, most tragic anime ever made. A teenage boy tries to protect his young sister until inevitable starvation takes them both. Civilian victims of WWII. This is tragedy at its absolute finest. The video is to the tune to of Cold Play's Fix You.

for some reason whiny annoying coldplay just doesn't do this movie justice...

I have to agree. That was the saddest film I've ever seen.

I like some Coldplay, but I don't think their music does the movie justice either. Also, not a fan of AMVs in general, unless they're amazingly well-done.

Honestly I didn't like this movie at all and neither did anyone I watched it with. In general, it was boring and preachy. At the end we all thought "what? that's it?" but I will give you that it was a tear-jerker and very much so.

But, this Cold Play video describes the movie very well. It expresses the sadness of the film with the tragic responsibility of the older brother. It tells of his sacrifice and his failure in protecting his child little sister. He, the only adult, attempts to cover her in every situation, but starvation is not something he can overcome, despite his effort. Anyone with a little sister or a niece can feel what this video is expressing,at least the inevitable need to keep her happy...

Discarding this video. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 4 days.
