Gaddafi Says "All My People Love Me"

In an interview with BBC's newsnight reporters, Gadaffi tries to convince them that his people aren't protesting against him at all. Does he really believe that, or does he think everyone else is so dense they'd fall for his bullshit? I don't get it :|
