Fred Hampton (August 30, 1948 – December 4, 1969) was an African-American activist and deputy chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party (BPP). Hampton's death was chronicled in the 1971 documentary film The Murder of Fred Hampton.[/wiki]
