F14 explodes after going supersonic

The F-14 was performing a high speed fly-by and as it passed the ship it hit the sound barrier - at this high speed the plane suffered an engine compression failure and it exploded shortly after sensors informed the pilots of massive failure. They both ejected in time and were picked up 55 miles from the USS John Paul Jones. Happened in 1995 though
