Empire: Total War trailer - Sword Fighting Motion Capture

If you played Shogun: Total War or either of the Medieval:TW games, you already know how incredible this looks.

To those of you just joining us, this is a game that lets you take on the entire world with your armies. In the past it's done Japan and Medieval Europe (i.e., Crusades, and the Middle Ages).

In Empire, they're doing the Napoleonic Era. And it looks absolutely fantastic. Potential Game of the Year here.

This game has strong historical roots - and the quality of video in the older games is so strong it's been used on historical TV shows even - players re-fight historical battles, among other things.

One art critic went to far as to call the last game, M2:TW the best form of artistic visualization of medieval combat.

Ever.

The fights recorded here are used to make your characters' in-game combat look more realistic.

The "Sharpe" series of books/movies is cited as an influence. Nice.
