cryptographrixsays...Yeah it's old...but totally interesting.
Dr.Conspiracysays...O-MY-GOD! ......this is the most frightening thing I've ever seen....
twiddlessays...Well, it was interesting up to the point (51:29) where Ms. Luksik, a person with a degree in Education, demonstrated that she did not know the difference between average and median. Some scary stuff. Too bad this wasn't more up to date and delivered by a better reasoning person.
aaronfrsays...Fascinating explanation of standardization and achievement-based testing. However, she kinda threw me off with her complaint about the United States being a "democratic republic" and not a "constitutional democracy." The term democratic republic is actually quite ambiguous and has no agreed upon meaning. The U.S. is a DR, Congo is a DR, China is a DR, and each has extremely different forms of governance. In reality, the U.S. is both a constitutional democracy (in that there is a separation of powers) and a republic (in the governance occurs through popular consent and representation). In fact, most political scientists classify the U.S. as a presidential republic because of the combination of systems.
