wow, that video's moving way too fast for me. It's hard to see the pace of development. lol. anyway i read that the desalinization process being used in dubai is so expensive (since they're irrigating a desert) that water is more expensive than oil to them. But I'd still like to visit some day.

I heard from a friend that an American can get very wealthy in Dubai, very quickly, doing even fairly menial office work. Like $65k/year free and clear, or more depending on which outfit you hook up with. I think professionals like engineers and such make quite a bit more, probably double that.

But you've really got to be careful because that society is still about as backwards as backwards can get.
