Derren Brown - Zombie video game reality

Waking Dead

In this clip, Brown claims to have created a video game he calls "Waking Dead" which "is able to put roughly 1/3 of the people who play it into a catatonic trance". In this episode he places the video game in a pub, to lure a supposedly unsuspecting patron into playing the game. He then "kidnaps" the catatonic "victim" and places him in a real-life recreation of the video game, having him fire an air gun at actors, pretending to be zombies and outfitted with explosive squibs.

Very entertaining. I'm a bit skeptical about how real this was tho. It seems like a lot could have gone wrong (paintball to someone's eye, homicidal killing rage after the guy gets home, etc.). Great submission.

I'm not only a bit skeptical, but I think the entire thing is complete BS.

Might be a nice TV bit but I am 100% sure this is not real.

Part of the fun with Derren's stuff for me, is deciding what's "real" and what's not - or which bits of dishonesty are honest dishonesty. Also, no paintballs here, just exploding squibs on the actors. The wikipedia page has more information.
