Yesterday the vice president was forced to admit what even an eighth-grade student knew: there is no Cheney branch of government. While the vice president's excuses may change, his desire to ignore the rule remains just as strong as ever. The vice president is unwilling to risk that the documents detailing the flawed intelligence or faulty assumptions that led us into the war in Iraq [sic]. He has been held unaccountable for six years, and now he wants to be held unaccountable in the historical record as well...
If his office is not in the executive branch, then there is no executive branch office to fund. And perhaps more importantly, it underscores that the vice president is not above the law, and cannot ignore the rules. The law should follow him, whatever branch of government he chooses to hang his hat in.

ObsidianStormsays...It's NOT up to Dick Cheney to DECIDE what branch he is in - the office of Vice President is an office within the Executive Branch as set forth in the Constitution. Period.
It may very well be up to congress to decide which office he ISN'T in soon - Dick Cheney should be impeached along with his trained monkey.
syncronsays...Upvote for truth.
Enzobluesays...I foresee yet another failure of congress. They'll never get anything out of that office. If they did, both cheney and bush would need to be arrested for high treason.
winkler1says...By stonewalling, Bush & Cheney pushing the investigation toward the most fruitful line of attack: the illegal wiretapping, an illegal act and an impeachable offense.
Constitutional_Patriotsays...Pelosi already stated that she won't sign that bill (HR333). She has stated in the past that any impeachment is "off the table" and has also stated "under the table" - so it doesn't look like it'll happen.
