(3:25 -- starts slow, jump to 0:50) Excerpt from a powerful HBO documentary film that features eloquent letters home written by members of the US military while serving in Vietnam, spoken aloud as voice-overs. The letters are accompanied by footage, music from the era, and, very often, photos of the writers while they were there. Many of the letters turn out to be from troops who did not live to return home. Insightful, sobering and very well made.
