Clear Rationality from The Atheist Experience

One of the most clear and well delivered perspectives on atheism given to a theist caller on the show. This stands out to me as one of the most civil and smart discussions the show has aired.

Wow... this guys brain seems to really struggle with protecting what he believes in against the evidence presented to him.

(should have watched pt.2 to the end before commenting)
Because there his brain finally understands.

This is why I like and dislike this show:

Intelligent comments that quickly break down into arrogant smugness. Cmon AE. Do better than this. Don't laugh under your breath at people like the lady on the right at 9:56. You're no better.

It's no wonder people think athiests are jerks.

quantumushroomsays...

Atheists have the same bottomless capacity for self-delusion as the religious, it just expresses itself differently. Example: believing atheism holds the sole patents on reason and intelligence.

AntiClimaxsays...

I think one could argue that most atheists come to be so by reason and intelligence, not the other way around; so neither would really preclude using logic and intelligence. The rub comes when folks discard logic and reason to keep beliefs that don't stand up to them.
