Am I the only one who felt somewhat ambivalent about the brightest city on Earth being Las Vegas? Is that a bad thing? What kind of message are we sending to the aliens?

And the reason lake Eyre is so visible is because it is seasonal. It's salt pans for 9 out of 10 years and the salt crystals are reflecting the moonlight.
