Christopher Hitchens: TDS on "Why God is not Great." R.I.P.

Christopher Hitchens, the brilliant, pugilistic essayist and journalist, died Thursday of cancer at age 62.

In this TV clip of Hitchens; above, he talks to Jon Stewart in 2007 about his book God Is Not Great. He’s serious and droll at the same time, remarking at one point that “the more secular a society is, the more amusing it is, and the better the food. And the more to drink.”

If I'm not mistaken, he had just gone for medical testing and not yet received his diagnosis at the time that he gave this interview... so when he says, "it's too early to say," in response to Jon's "how are you" at the start of the interview, he was being rather quite literal and not as figurative as it seemed.
