Bristle-bot locomotion slow motion (Royal Society Journal)

Have you ever wondered how little bristlebots move? In actual fact it is similar to the way carpets walk. This is a slow motion study of bristle bot locomotion, part of a larger study into the swarming behaviour of bristle bots by Luca Giomi, an applied mathematician at Harvard University, and associates. The swarming behaviour is also quite interesting, but the videos weren't... There is a New Scientist article here with a little more detail:

This video shows Bristle-bot locomotion. This research was published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society A in the paper: "Swarming, swirling and stasis in sequestered bristle-bots" by Giomi et al.
