Bats are dying by the hundreds of thousands

About 400,000 bats have already died as a result of White Nose Sydrome. This fungus is killing winter roosting bats in the Northeast US, and is spreading about 500 miles each season. Infected bats are moving to new roosts each summer and spreading the fungus via bat to bat contact. Once a roost is infected there is a 100% mortality rate. There may be some bat species going extinct due to the terrible situation.
